  • WHEN I WAS LITTLE

When I was little, war was a bore,
and Grandad, just a grumpy old man.
    What was this 'gallipoli' thing
    that took out Grandad's eye?

When I grow up I am going to find his eye
and fix him up, so he won't be grumpy any more.

But when I was eight, he was gone and
I never got the chance to make him better.
Now I am grown, I understand about Gallipoli.
But I wish I had known, when I was little.
