    Admitted to NZ General Hospital, Cairo, 7 January 1916 (influenza); transferred to Aotea Convalescent Hospital, Heliopolis (post-malarial debility), 7 February 1916; discharged, and attached to NZ Base, Ghezireh, 3 March 1916.
    Admitted to Polymedia Hospital, Cyprus, 5 May 1916 (adenoids); discharged to duty, 23 May 1916.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Suez on board HT 'Navua', 26 June 1916; discharged, 29 November 1916 (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of illness contracted on Active Service: malaria).
