  • RE - APPEAL FOR RELATIVES - 13 AUGUST 2020

Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage is the New Zealand agent for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC). As agents for CWGC we are responsible for graves of personnel who died between 4 August 1914 and 31 August 1921 and 3 September 1939 and 31 December 1947.

Gunner Rayner Harris has what we call an official Commonwealth War Grave (https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/643679/harris,-rayner/). An inspector visited his grave late last year and identified some major maintenance we would like to undertake on his grave site.

If you are connected to this soldiers who fell in war please email us at info@mch.govt.nz so we can discuss our proposed plans.
