    Admitted to Fleet Sweeper 'Clacton', 29 July 1915 (gastro-enteritis), and transferred to HS 'Neuralia'; admitted to NZ General Hospital, Abbassia, 4 August 1915 (dysentery); transferred to England, 18 August 1915, and admitted to St George Hospital, Stamford Street, London, 30 August 1915; discharged to NZ Base Depot, Grey Towers, 27 January 1916.
    Found guilty, 5 February 1916, of creating a nuisance in Camp: awarded 14 days' confined to barracks.
    Returned to Egypt, and rejoined Bn, Ismailia, 1 March 1916.
    Embarked to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 6 April 1916.
    Debited 6d to pay price of hold-all, part of his equipment, 24 September 1917, and awarded 3 days' confined to barracks for losing equipment by neglect.
    On leave to United Kingdom, 12 October 1917; rejoined unit from leave, 20 October 1917.
