  • George was a Civil Servant in Wellington working in the Sate Fire Office at the time of the First World War and he served oversea's for a number of years in Samoa,Egypt and western Europe.
    During the Second World War he he was posted to the Patriotic Board and he became the Board's Secretary.
    His service to the Board was highly recognised and he was awarded the CBE for his efforts.
    On retirement George and family moved to Leigh and he was a co founder of Leigh Fisheries as well as being involved in many community activities. Public - George - Other relative - 21 June 2018 - Military files and personal records.
