    • My grandfather, Alexander Smillie Kennedy, sailed to Eqypt on HMNZT 19, Aparima. In a letter home he mentions Alex Hendry, confirming that he was also on Aparima. "All the Mosgiel fellows are fine. Alex Hendry is, I think, the least happy. I don’t think he really enjoys the sea."   • Alexander was always known as Uncle Allie. He was my Great Grandmother Margaret Hendry Campbell's brother. He lived in Dunedin all his life apart from his army service. He survived the War, dying in Dunedin in 1963. He is not forgotten.
