  • My grandfather George McLaren (1st AIB, 5th Reinforcements) mentions Claude Hinton in his war diary D1 - P38) whilst camped in Egypt after their return from Gallipoli ... on 26th of April 1916 they went to Cairo and saw the pyramids and sphinx on a day off.
