Advice has been received of the death of Rifleman F Richard EVINSON, who .was killed in action in France on August 23, 1918. He was the only son of Mrs E. F. Evinson of Te Karaka. The deceased soldier, prior to his enlisting, was a storekeeper at Te Karaka, and was well know about Gisborne. He also took a a prominent part in athletic circles, and on one occasion was a member of the representative Rugby team. His untimely end will be learned with regret by a large circle of friends.
