    • Thomas Ashman was the son of John and Margaret Ashman; husband of Minnie Ashman, 41 Cashel Street West, Christchurch, New Zealand. AWMM
    • Private Thomas George Ashman - of the Wellington Battalion NZEF - was captured, by Turkish Forces - on Chunuk Bair, Gallipoli 8 August 1915. Private Ashman was very seriously wounded during his capture. He died of wounds - held as a POW - in Constantinople (Istanbul) on 1 October 1915.
