Proceeded overseas to France, 15 November 1916; marched in to Base Depot, Etaples, 16 November 1916;
Joined 1st Bn, Wellington Infantry Regiment, in the field, 18 November 1916.
Found guilty, 15 May 1917, of being absent from billet after 10 pm: awarded 7 days' Field Punishment No 2.
Killed in action, 8 June 1917.
