    Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 6 April 1916.
    Awarded Military Medal for an act of gallantry.
    Detached to United Kingdom for duty, 28 November 1918, and selected for return to New Zealand for duty furlough; marched into NZ Command Depot, Codford, 8 December 1918; on leave to 16 December 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Tilbury on board HT 'Matatua', 8 January 1919; discharged, 21 March 1919.
