  • Charles Ernest Jackson was my great grandfather. He was a very proud, quiet man who worked hard and loved his family. He worked as the Head Cook at Auckland Hospital for 40 years, and passed away not long after his retirement (May 1954). He had arrived from UK with his brothers shortly before the war, and went on to marry upon his return. He lived in Ponsonby, Auckland for his married life, and was an active member at All Saints Parish in Ponsonby.
