  • Edward Jenson was the son of Edward and Ada Amelia (or Mary) Jensen of Whakatu, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

    Brothers William Frederick Jensen (27906) and Edward Matthew Jenson (24/809) were killed in WW1.

    Surname is spelled as Jensen and Jenson. Listed as Jenson by BDM and by Archway

    War service: Egypt, Western Front
    Embarked Wellington, 10 October 1915; disembarked Egypt, 18 November 1915.
    Joined Western Frontier Force, 21 November 1915 (Senussi uprising).
    Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, France,, 6 April 1916.
    Admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance, 21 June 1916 (pediculosis); discharged to and rejoined unit, 22 June 1916.
    Found guilty, 5 November 1916, of being absent without leave from billet at 10.15 pm: forfeited 5 days' pay.Found guilty, 28 November 1916, of smoking on the line of march: forfeited 4 days' pay.
    Killed in action, 30 December 1916.
