    Joined Wellington Infantry Bn, Gallipoli, 9 June 1915.
    Wounded in action, 8 August 1915 (gun shot wound, face and shoulder); transferred to Egypt, and admitted to NZ General Hospital, Abbassia, 13 August 1915; transferred to Special Camp, Zeitoun, 24 August 1915.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Suez on board HS 'Willochra', 25 September 1915.
    Embarked Wellington, 4 March 1916; disembarked Egypt with 4th Reinforcements, 10 April 1916.
    Proceeded to France to join the British Expeditionary Force, date not recorded.

    Transferred to 1st Bn, Wellington Infantry Regiment, 25 June 1916.
    Admitted to No 14 Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, 1 July 1916 (shell shock); transferred to No 1 Convalescent Camp, 3 July 1916; transferred to NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 7 July 1916.

    Classified 'C' by Travelling NZ Medical Board, 4 August 1917; detached to England, 15 August 1917.
    Commenced return to New Zealand on board HT 'Mokoia', 1 November 1917; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of wounds received in action), 1 February 1918.
