    Admitted to No 2 NZ Field Ambulance, 1 April 1916 (appendicitis, old operation), and transferred same day to NZ General Hospital, Cairo; discharged to Base Depot, Ghezireh, 8 April 1916; rejoined Bn, Sahlia, 20 April 1916.
    Admitted to 31st General Hospital, Port Said, 26 May 1916 (recurrent diarrhoea); transferred by ship to Alexandria, 6 June 1916, and admitted to 15th General Hospital; discharged to Base, 14 June 1916; admitted to Aotea Convalescent Depot, Abbassia, 25 June 1916; transferred to England, 15 September 1916; admitted to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 24 November 1916; and admitted to No 3 NZ General Hospital, Codford, 14 January 1917; marched in to NZ Command Depot, Codford, from hospital, 1 March 1917
