  • DEATH OF MR. RANGI K'ATERE.
    The death occurred yesterday afternoon of Mr Rangi Ira Katene, of Manaia Road, Manaia, at the age of 39 years. Deceased, with five of his brothers, left with the Maori Contingent early in the War. He was badly gassed and suffered a long illness as a result. He was a resident of Manaia since childhood. He leaves a widow and eight children. The funeral will take place on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Waiakura Pa for the Waiakura Cemetery. Military honours will be accorded.
