  • William Lane was my great grandfather. William was a very brave man during World War I and received the Military Medal Bravery on the field medal for bringing back allied men from the German side and the battlefield and was given to him by the Governor General. He also shook hands with George V in London in Buckingham palace. My grandmother Ngaire, (Now 93) remembers him telling her stories from the war
