    Wounded in action, date not recorded (gun shot wound, left hand); admitted to Military Hospital, Valetta, Malta, 10 September 1915; transferred to England, 29 October 1915, and admitted to Military Hospital, Church Lane, Tooting, 10 November 1915.
    Returned to Egypt (date not recorded); taken on strength of NZ Field Artillery, 1 March 1916, and posted to 10th Battery.
    Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 7 April 1916.
