    Private Foster Sefton Fisher, reported killed in action, was a son of Mr and Mrs John Fisher, Christchurch. He was educated at the East and West Oxford schools and celebrated his twenty-first birthday just a week before he was killed. Private Fisher left with his brother in the Nineteenth Reinforcements and another brother left with the Twenty-second Reinforcements. Private Fisher served on the Amokura for two years, and later went to England on the Tyrone, which was wrecked off the Dunedin Heads. After that, he worked on a sheep station with his brothers in the Gisborne district.
