      London Gazette 11 October 1916, p9839, Rec No 8 For gallantry and good work in connection with the placing of the defences of Quinn’s Post, Gallipoli, during June 1915 in an efficient state. The work was carried out in front of our infantry firing line and the working parties were subject to a heavy rifle and bomb fire. Company Sergeant Major Moore, by his excellent example contributed largely to the successful prosecution and speedy determination of the work.
