  • Thinking of my Grandad Lyle Noakes. With the 100 year anniversary of the Armistice approaching, thinking of the great sacrifices our men made. So much of what was experienced was not talked about when he came home but I am sure he and his comrades who also survived had to endure more horrors than we could ever imagine. We are grateful to have some of his experiences recorded in diaries to get just a peep into life in the trenches. We don’t take the freedom we have today for granted and will not forget them.
