  • Dad You passed away when I was 8 years old and you left us with a big hole in your history and lifelong struggle finding out your military history and surprise learning us having three step sisters this last year (2015). You were a very mysterious person being a returned NZ expeditionary force Private Soldier and being medically discharged as medically unfit from the NZ Defence Force as a Private but me having found a Certificate of you being promoted to 2LT, which has been denied as factual by the NZ Defence Force. You then appeared as being in the Australian Army During WWII and being promoted to Captain before being demobilised in 1946 in Western Australia and marrying my mother.... As a ex Australian Army soldier myself, we also have located your plaque in Karrakatta War Cemetery saying you were awarded the M.C (Military Cross ) which nobody can verify. So far a very disappointing
