    Brother of Norman William Thomas Gebbie (18888), who was killed in action on 17 April 1917, in France.

    New Zealand at the Front ( a magazine written and published and illustrated in France by men of the New Zealand Division) 1917 issue, page141.

    His name has been incorrectly spelled as Herbert on the nominal roll. It is Heber on his entry in Births, Deaths and Marriages (New Zealand) Historical Records online and on his headstone. Spelled as Herber in Archway. AWMM
