  • Just a note to remember my uncle Wharemako - my Dad's older brother who is buried at Wimerieux. I visited his gravesite in 2000 and left a whalebone manaia with him and brought back some Whenua to bury with and alongside his brothers at Waimarama. His sister Wikitoria was still alive then and it made her very happy that a whānau member had visited him. She had not been born when he left to go to war and my father Alexander was only two years old when he left for war
