    • Fergus Gilmour was the son of the late Thomas and Nancy Hall Gilmour, of Queenstown, New Zealand.

      Embarked Wellington, 1 April 1916; disembarked Suez, 2 May 1916; reverted to the ranks, 6 May 1916.
      Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 27 May 1916; marched into NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 9 June 1916.
      Joined 4th Bn, and posted to D Company, in the field, 30 July 1916.
      Wounded in action, 15 September 1916 (gun shot wound, knee), and admitted to 1/1 Casualty Clearing Station, 16 September 1916; transferred to No 6 Convalescent Depot, Etaples, 23 September 1916; rejoined unit, in the field, 3 October 1916.
      Promoted Corporal, 4 October 1916.
      Admitted to No 8 Casualty Clearing Station, 13 October 1916 (influenza); transferred to 35th General Hospital, Calais, 16 October 1916; marched into NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 13 November 1916; rejoined unit, in the field, 23 November 1916.
      Detached to NZ Working Bn, 20 April 1917; rejoined unit from detachment, 19 May 1917.
      Admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance, 17 July 1917; transferred same day to No 2 Casualty Clearing Station.
      Died of wounds, 1 August 1917 (bomb wound, head; contributing cause: lobar pneumonia).
