  • Roland Saunderson Talbot (1887 - ?) was my maternal grandfather. He was wounded in the head at Gallipoli, survived and was then sent to serve in France. He had access to drugs, being in the medical corps, and became a drug addict, no doubt due to his wound. Although he survived the war, his life was ruined and my grandmother eventually divorced him because she could not cope with him. After that it was a downward spiral and he lost touch with my mother and her brother. He fetched up in Sydney and after that we have no record of him. A wasted life!
