  • James Gordon-Glassford was the son of James and Mary Lucilla Gordon-Glassford, of "Tawhera," Levin, Wellington, New Zealand.

    Disembarked Suez, 15 March 1916.
    Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 7 April 1916.
    Wounded in action, 24 September 1916 (gun shot wound, foot), and admitted to XV Corps Dressing Station; rejoined unit, in the field, 26 September 1916..
    Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 16 October 1916 (pyrexia, unknown origin); transferred to No 2 Canadian General Hospital, 24 October 1916 (influenza); discharged to No 1 Convalescent Depot, Boulogne, 27 October 1916; to NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 3 November 1916; rejoined unit, in the field, 28 December 1916.
    Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 28 December 1916 (Scabies); transferred to Northumbrian Casualty Clearing Station, 29 December 1916; rejoined unit, in the field, 3 January 1917.
    Attached to NZ Wing, 2nd Army Reinforcements Camp, 4 June 1917; rejoined unit, 12 June 1917.
