    Samuel Grace was the son of William Robert Grace and Mary Anne Grace (Walker), of Tuparoa, East Coast, New Zealand. He served with the New Zealand (Māori) Pioneer Battalion (Service No. WWI 19745). Samuel was killed in action in France on 19 February 1918. He is remembered on the Buttes New British Cemetery (N.Z.)
