      London Gazette 26 November 1917, p12326 Citation, London Gazette 6 February 1918, p1780 "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as battalion signalling sergeant in an attack. His commanding officer was killed during the attack, and he went forward three times to find another officer to take command of the battalion, but in each case the officer for whom he was searching was wounded. He returned and established his communications, and finally found an officer to take command. Throughout the whole time he was exposed to the heaviest machine-gun fire, and his cheerfulness and disregard of danger was a splendid example to all ranks." AWMM

      London Gazette 9 December 1916, p12058, Rec No 291 "During the operations at Flers from the 16th to the 18th September and from the 25th to 28th September, L/Cpl Vincent repeatedly went out under heavy shell fire to repair the telephone wire from Battalion Headquarters, when they were damaged by the enemy’s fire, and it was owing to L/Cpl Vincent’s increasing attention to duty that communication was able to be kept up so well in spite of the bombardment" AWMM

      London Gazette, 13th June 1946, "Maj. Vincent served overseas with the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force from 16 October 1914 until 30 June 1919 being Brigade Signal Officer during the latter part of that period. He was awarded the DCM, MM, Belgian Croix de Guerre, and was Mentioned in Despatches in the First World War. He served with 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force from 25 September 1939 until December 1941 and was Adjuctant, New Zealand Divisional Signals and Chief Instructor, Signal Depot, 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force during this period. He was Mentioned in Despatches for his service during this period. From November 1939 until April 1948 Maj. Vincent was Chief Instructor of Signal Wing, Army School of Instruction and being responsible for the training of signal personnel for overseas and home service. He consistently displayed exceptional keenness and enthusiasm, and his wide knowledge of signals and signal requirements in the field resulted in the setting of a very high standard of instruction of signal personnel.
