    • Private Ward served at Gallipoli (1915) & France (1916).
      On 12 April 1915 Private Ward embarked from Alexandria, Egypt, to serve with the ANZAC forces at Gallipoli, Turkey.
      On 2 May 1915 - after being wounded in action at Gallipoli - he was medically evacuated from Gallipoli to Ras-el-Tin Hospital - at Alexandria, Egypt. He was later medically evacuated to England.
      On 18 July 1916 Private Ward joined his battalion - at the Somme, Armentieres, France.
      On 14 November 1916 he was medically evacuated - sick - to England. From that time until he was discharged from the NZEF - on 17 December 1919 - Private Ward served at England.
      On 16 December 1918 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant - at England.
      At discharge from the NZEF Sergeant Ward had served overseas - with the NZEF - for 5 years & 4 days. Public - Jenifer - Researcher - 27 May 2017 - Military File
