    Disembarked Alexandria, 26 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).
    Appointed Temporary Sergeant, 2 February 1916; relinquished appointment as Temporary Sergeant, 9 March 1916.
    Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 8 April 1916.
    Promoted Sergeant, 23 August 1916.
