      HMNZT 38 or HMNZT 39 AWMM Vessel was Tahiti or Warrimoo AWMM Rifleman AWMM 3rd Reinforcements, 1st Battalion, E Company AWMM New Zealand Rifle Brigade AWMM
    • The 9 Reinforcements, 2406 troops, embarked from NZ aboard the MAUNGANUI on 8 Jan 1916. The troops were under the command of Capt Joll. On 8 Feb the ship disembarked at Suez and the troops marched into Zeitoun Camp. About this time Pte Cochrane joined the Auckland Regiment.
      The regiment left for France sometime in June and marched into Etaples Camp. They were posted into the field soon after arrival. Public - Warren - Direct descendant - 2 November 2016 - Ministry of Defence letter dated 2 May 1980
