      London Gazette 18/02/1919. Citation: "For conspicuous gallantry and deotion to duty durin gthe attack on Dancelles on the 30th September 1918. With a patrol of three men, in full view of the enemy and finding that the fottbridge at the lock was mined, he cut the [?] fuze of the mine. He then found a party of four preparing to mine the traffic bridge and killed one enemy, running the others off. He then exploded the bridge, penetrated the enemy's lines..." AWMM
