    Corporal Cecil G. Guiness [sic], who was killed in action on October 19, was a son of the late Mr. Frank H. Guinness, of Dunedin, and Mrs. J. G. Green, of Tauranga. He left with the twelfth reinforcements, and was for some time attached to the musketry instruction staff at Sling Camp, leaving for France in May. He attended King's College, and at the time of enlisting, was a member of the firm of Guinness Bros., Tauranga. (Auckland Weekly News, 27 December 1917, p. 21) AWMM
