  • Walter De Lacey was born in Carterton, and then lived in Waipawa, Hawkes Bay where he worked as a Shepherd. During the First World War, he served in both Egypt and the Western Front, on his return to New Zealand he lived with his brother Bert De Lacey at 86 Ponsonby Road, where he was a Carter. He moved to Raglan where he was a bread-carter. He retired to Waihi, where he passed away on the 26th October 1960. AWMM
