Ronald was my paternal Grandfather's first cousin, and one of four siblings who served in the NZEF in WW1. He lost two brothers in the War, Reginald Percy Quilliam on 3 Aug 1916 in First Somme battle and Cecil Wifred Quillam at Les Quesnoy, North France on 4 Nov 1918. After the War he became a lawyer, and in WW2 also served as a Major in charge of Mobilisation and by the end of the War was NZ chief prosecutor at the Tokio war Crimes 1946-1948. He died in 1972 and is buried in the family plot at Te Henui Cemetery, New Plymouth. His son Peter Quilliam served on Fiji in WW2, and later became Sir Peter Quilliam in 1998. The family has done stirling service to New Zealand and his Australian Cousins always remember them on Anzac day and throughout the Year. Lest we Forget.
