  • Alexander Forbes Leslie was my grandfather and he was born 14th April 1879 in Opotiki to Doctor Alexander James Leslie and his wife Florianne Remington. He married Mary Catherine Benington in the Registrars Office Christchurch 28 March 1900, before he left for the South African War with the 5th Contingent. He died 25th August 1959 and is buried in the Old Anglican Cemetery 17th Ave Tauranga. His wife Mary Catherine Benington was born 31st December 1875 in Broadfields Christchurch and died 14th March 1969 and is buried with Alexander Forbes Leslie in the Old Anglican Cemetery 17th Ave Tauranga
