  • Four brothers served in WW1 Herbert Stanley Sing (12/1097), Albert Victor Sing (13/3077), Robert Francis (12/1096), Arthur Percy Sing (13/3078)

Listed on nominal roll as Albert Victor and at Archives New Zealand as SING, Albert Victor - WW1 13/3077 - Army.

Felicity Semmiens (nee Singe) has provided the following rememberance of her Grandfather Albert Victor: "My brother Vic Stuart Singe was the first-born grandchild and named after Albert Victor, he fondly recalls sitting on grandad's knee in the car and being allowed to toot the horn as much as he liked. Apparently my grandfather was awaiting the birth of me (first bom girl) because there had not been a girl born for the past two generations. The (5) Sing boys being William b.1890, Albert Victor b. 1892, Robert Francis b.1893, Herbert Stanley b!l894, and Arthur Percy b. 1895. The next generation of (3) boys all born to Albert Victor were Donald, Mervyn and Miles." (May 2017).

  • I'm enjoying learning about you Victor, I've always been interested in the story behind this man photographed in uniform. I respect your bravery and wish more of your legacy was left behind for us to unfold.
