    Embarked Alexandria for France, 7 April 1916.
    Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 11 May 1916 (influenza); transferred to 12th Casualty Clearing Station, 14 May 1916 (pneumonia); to 13th General Hospital, Boulogne, 7 June 1916 (double pneumonia); listed as dangerously ill, 15 June 1916. Transferred to England, 25 June 1916, and admitted to 2nd Eastern General Hospital, Brighton, 26 June 1916. Transferred to Woodcote Hospital, 11 July 1916; on leave, 3-18 October 1916.
    Admitted to No 3 NZ General Hospital, 15 November 1916 (bronchitis); discharged to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 6 December 1916.
    Classified unfit by Medical Board, 28 March 1917 (double pneumonia), and placed on NZ Roll.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Plymouth on board RMS 'Tainu', 26 April 1917; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of illness contracted on Active Service), 3 August 1917.
