  • Varley Baker was the son of Philip James and Eleanor Baker, of Russell, Bay of Islands, New Zealand.

    His three brothers, Theodore Russell Baker, Phillip Leonard Baker and Arthur Wilmott Baker also served in World War 1. His nephew, Theodore Russell Baker, was killed in World War 2. AWMM
