  • Two sons, brothers Arthur Conlon (26/731) and Elmer James Conlon (26/730) served in WW1.

    Before he enlisted he was farming for F. Baker, Herekino.

    He was operated on about three times, amputating more of his leg. By 1919 his entire right leg and right thigh was amputated and in 1919 he was fitted with an artifical limb

  • To my Granddad - remembering you on the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC Day. I remember sitting on your bed with you drinking gingerale while your wooden leg stood up in the corner of your bedroom a reminder of your injuries from WW1. Love you lots. Tina x
