      Removed to DBI Hospital, Malta, 13 April 1915 (gonorrhoea).
      Embarked for Egypt, 12 July 1915; transferred to Base, Alexandria, 16 July 1915.
      Returned to duty, Gallipoli, 28 July 1915.
      Killed in action, Anzac, 21 August 1915.

    • Sept 1915 - Amongst the. members of the Maori Contingent, recently reported killed in action were Whare Baker of Waipiro Bay, Rawiri Taewa of Tuparoa, and Hauraki Waiti Waipiro Bay, whilst Hori N. Te Awarau, who died of pneumonia, also belonged to Waipiro Bay.
