    Wounded in action, 23 September 1916 (gun shot wound, abdomen and right thigh), and admitted to XVth Corps Dressing Station; transferred to England, 2 October 1916, and admitted to 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham, 3 October 1916. Transferred to No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, 6 December 1916; to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 12 December 1916; to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 24 February 1917.
    Posted to NZ Base Post Office, London, 7 April 1917.
    Admitted to NZ ConvalescentHhospital, Hornchurch, 20 June 1917 (scabies); discharged, 11 July 1917.
