    Edwin attested as Edwin Tanner Sherriff but his name was incorrectly entered as Edwin Thomas on the Service Record history sheet and subsequently the embarkation Nominal Roll. His service record was corrected and other later military documents name him correctly.

    Territorial at the time of enlistment he was serving with the 4th Regiment, B Company. AWMM
