      Taken on strength of 3rd Battery, Zaharich, 9 September 1915.
      Embarked, Egypt, and proceeded overseas to France, 6 April 1916.
      Admitted to No 2 NZ Field Ambulance, 10 June 1916 (scabies); rejoined unit, 19 June 1916.
      Admitted to Northumberland Casualty Clearing Station, 23 November 1916; transferred to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, 11 December 1916 (diabetes); reported 'dangerously ill', No 2 Australian General Hospital, 14 December 1916.
      Died of diabetes, No 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, 15 December 1916.

    • Both a Death Notice and a post-war Victorian Education Department laces his parents at Upper Diamond Creek north of Melbourne, the latter specifically at the Upper Diamond Creek school. The Death Notice appeared just eight days after his demise (compared to an average of around 1-20 for most Australians killed on the Western Front, suggesting they may have received a private cable from a family member in England.
