    • Son of William and Honoria Pilkinton and brother of Roland Pilkinton 59281 and Ullett Pilkinton 10/1952.

      Went overseas with the infantry but transferred to the NZ Tunnelling Company and served on the Western Front. He was promoted to Lance Corporal. Public source.

      Name spelt incorrectly in the Military Personnel File as Pilkington. AWMM
    • Banks Pilkinton was a representative rugby player, playing for the Bush Rugby Union each year from 1908 until 1914 and again in 1919. He also played for the undefeated NZ Tunnelling Company team which won the 1V Division Championship. In the final played on March 16th, 1918 at Ronville France they defeated Artillery.
