    Detached to hospital, 11 October 1916; attached to Base Depot from hospital, 15 October 1916.
    Marched out to Segregation Camp, 13 January 1917; attached to Base Depot from Segregation, 17 February 1917.
    Detached to Royal Engineers Signal Depot, Abbeville, 24 February 1917.
    Transferred to No 1 Field Company, NZ Engineers, in the field, 12 May 1917.
    Admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance, 1 July 1917 (influenza); transferred to No 2 Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 2 July 1917; to Ambulance Train No 22, 7 July 1917, and admitted to No 32 Stationary Hospital, 8 July 1917. Transferred to No 12 Convalescent Depot, 18 January 1918 (trench fever); discharged to No 5 Rest Camp, 25 March 1918.
    Admitted to 46th Stationary Hospital, 4 May 1918 (mumps); discharged to Base Depot, 30 May 1918.
    Classified unfit by Medical Board, 23 November 1918; Medical Board noted: 'Was blown up Jan. 1918 on 2 occasion and he has been very nervous ever since, sent down line with trench fever soon afterwards and in hosp. and con. Camp for 6 weeks. Has been employed in this depot [NZ Base Depot, Etaples] since. Was in 46 Stat. Hosp. during big air raid suffering from mumps and neurasthenia and was considerably agitated by the raid.'
    Marched in to NZ Discharge Depot, Torquay, 24 November 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Liverpool on board SS 'Oxfordshire', 19 December 1918; discharged (no longer physically fir for War Service on account of illness contracted on Active Service: neurasthenia), 2 March 1919.
    Total war service: 3 years 104 days (of which 2 years 36 days were abroad).
