    HASKELL. – On October 12, 1917, died of wounds received in France, William Alexander (Willie), Twentieth Reinforcements, dearly-loved son of A. and E. Haskell, of Leigh; aged 20 years.He bravely answered duty’s call,He gave his life for one and all.But the unknown grave is the bitterest blow,That only those who loved him know.(Auckland Weekly News, 15 November 1917, p. 30)
