    Proceeded to unit, 29 July 1916, and posted to 'D' Company, 3rd Battalion, New Zealand Rifle Bde, the same day.
    Accidentally wounded in bomb explosion, 12 September 1916; admitted to No 8 General Hospital, Rouen, 14 September 1916; transferred to England, 23 September 1916; to No 1 New Zealand General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 24 September 1916; to Convalescent Depot, Hornchurch, 3 October 1916; to Command Depot, 25 November 1916, and posted on leave until 30 November 1916.
    Found guilty, 26 December 1916, of while on active service, being absent without leave from 1145 hours, 26 December 1916, until 1600 hours, 26 December 1916: awarded 7 days' confined to barracks, forfeits 8 days' pay, and forfeits 8 days' pay by Royal Warrant.
    Marched out to Reserve Group, 15 January 1917.
    Transferred to Operating Section, Light Railway, 6 February 1917.
