    Wounded in action, 16 September 1916 (gun shot wound, thigh), and admitted to XV Corps Main Dressing Station; transferred to 12th General Hospital, Rouen, 24 September 1916; to England, 24 September 1916, and admitted to 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham, 25 September 1916. Discharged to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 11 December 1916.
    Placed on NZ Roll for discharge, 5 April 1917.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Plymouth on board 'Tainui', 26 April 1917; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of wounds received in action), 6 August 1917.
